Syma does a good job at creating realistic RC helicopters at an affordable price. The Syma S109G helicopter is no exception. Whether it be the realistic paint or markings, this helicopter will make you feel as if you are flying the real thing (only a miniature version). The one thing in particular that I like about this indoor helicopter is that it has lights on either side of it which allow for even more fun.
The Gyro on this helicopter makes for easy flying (which can be especially needed indoors). The movements are smooth and steady. They indicate that this helicopter is designed for 8 years of age and older but I have seen 5-year-olds operate this size helicopter with a little practice and guidance. This is another great beginner helicopter from Syma.
Syma S109G Review
Read here an in depth review analysis of Syma S109G.
- Function: Can fly in 6 different directions: up and down, turn left and right, fly forward
- Battery: 3.7v 170mAh
- Charge time: 20-30minutes
- Aviate Time: 5-6minutes
- Helicopter battery: Rechargeable lithium polymer battery
- Frequency: Infra red control system
- Range: Up to 10m (30ft)
So let me clarify its main features to you. The drone is powered by a 3.7 volt and 170 mAh lithium battery which is not very good at all. As a result the drone is only able to fly for 5 to 6 minutes. However the drone is really easy to control. You can fly the drone however you want to, in which direction you wish that includes up, down, right, left, forward and backward. The drone is controlled by infra red controller system and can fly up to 10 meter which is approx 30 feet.
Syma S109G Battery Life and Flight Time:
There is a Li-Po battery built into the helicopter. Apparently, you can find the battery on Amazon but you would need to disassemble the helicopter, remove the existing battery and then solder the new battery in. Truthfully with would be better just to purchase a new helicopter if for some reason the battery needs to be replaced. Flight time for this helicopter is about 6 minutes. This is very typical for RC helicopters of this size. It may last even longer depending on your flying habits.
So you might already got the point here. The battery back up time of the drone is not really good at all. You can say it is a toy drone, but still. In case if you want to extend your flight time, I would like to suggest you to buy 2-3 additional batteries. But one thing we also need to consider here. The drone is mainly designed for kids and indoor flying. So 6 minutes of indoor flight time is not bad at all. What do you think?
Ease of use and Flying:
Unless there is absolutely no breeze outside, this helicopter is recommended for indoor use only. It’s small and fun helicopter for indoor use. The controller comes with alignment trim, a charge power indicator, and left and right trimmer. The controls are completely suitable for controlling this helicopter the way you want. The transmitter takes 6 AA batteries. There are two frequencies to choose from so you can have two of these helicopters flying at the same time.
Syma S109G Camera Quality and Video Recording:
It cannot take any pictures or videos as it does not have any inbuilt camera in it.
The Good in Syma S109G
- Easier than Single Rotor
- Fast Charging
- Attracting design
The Bad in Syma S109G
- Harder than 3Ch flight
- Cannot be taken Outside
